PepperBall Technologies, Inc. (PTI) was originally formed in 1996 as an engineering project group of Jaycor, a defense contractor for over 30 years. Jaycor entered the defense sciences marketplace in the late 1970's and was involved in numerous U.S. Government sponsored projects including: the development of guidelines for the employment of non-lethal technology in operations other than war, product development for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency that culminated in Jaycor's wireless electro-magnetic device projectile, and Board level participation at the National Institute of Justice Office of Law Enforcement Technology. Tasked with developing non-lethal weapon alternatives for government agencies and commercial markets, a task force developed Pepperball® as its first product for commercialization. A business division was formed in 1998 to bring this product to market.

The company was officially incorporated as Jaycor Tactical Systems, a privately held stand-alone entity in August 2000 and changed its name to as PepperBall Technologies, Inc. in September of 2002.

The Pepperball system made its debut in 1999 at the World Trade Organization demonstrations in Seattle, Washington. Following this highly successful deployment, Pepperball has continued to expand rapidly, doubling the number of agencies carrying the system each year, and significantly expanding its product line to meet customer needs.

In the summer of 2002, PTI acquired ChemArmor, Inc. of Missoula, Montana. ChemArmor was a key supplier of our active ingredient and formulated powder that provides the chemical effects in our PepperBall system. In addition, ChemArmor owns several brands including Bear Pause, a bear deterrent currently marketed in Canada, and personal protection pepper sprays for consumer markets.

In September of 2008, PepperBall Technologies, Inc. Merged with SWAT (Security with Advanced Technology) and PepperBall became a publicly traded company (PTI: NASDAQ), with the intent to focus on hand-held less-lethal products for existing and new markets.

With a track record of success in general management, sales and marketing, product development, science and engineering, operations, and finance and business development, the PTI management team is uniquely positioned to profit and grow as its business continues to expand in consumer, law enforcement, corrections, government and military.
