San Diego PD use PepperBall to safely apprehend man that claims to have a gun at trolley station. A man who threatened to shoot himself was taken into custody after he holed up inside a trolley at an East Village station Thursday night, police said.
The man was not armed after all, police said.
The trolley station at 12th Street and Imperial Avenue was shut down for about 30 minutes while officers tried to persuade the man to surrender.
The incident began about 9 p.m. when the man on the trolley claimed to have a gun and threatened to turn it on himself, police said. The conductor got out safely and took the keys.
