PepperBall Announces National Training Program For Law Enforcement Agencies
Schedule of 250 Courses Will Increase Non-Lethal Weapons Training Opportunities for Agencies and Officers

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – April 6, 2003

PepperBall Technologies, Inc.TM, a leading national provider of non-lethal weapons for protection, today announced the scheduling of additional training courses at over 250 new locations across the United States. Designed to increase the accessibility and availability of its PepperBall® System to law enforcement agencies, the expansion of the training program brings PepperBall’s non-lethal weapons experts directly to the men and women of the nation’s law enforcement agencies.
Beginning in April, PepperBall will offer its Instructor and Armorer training courses in a variety of markets including Buffalo, Denver, Indianapolis, Louisville, Philadelphia, San Diego, St. Louis, Tulsa and West Palm Beach. By close of year classes will be held in every major United States city and over 250 other locations spanning the nation.

"There is a deep commitment and growing demand from law enforcement, corrections, and government agencies to enhance officer safety and save suspect or civilian lives,” said Jose Marrero, PepperBall Technologies, Inc. president and CEO. “We have aggressively expanded our national training program to satisfy the needs of these agencies and to insure officers can properly use PepperBall non-lethal weapons when effective use of force is appropriate but lethal force is not required,” continued Marrero.
PepperBall Technology, Inc. offers two different training courses: PepperBall Instructor and PepperBall Armorer. The Instructor class is a one-day course designed to educate instructors in all aspects of the PepperBall System, including operations, safety, deployment, tactics and liability. Graduates are certified to train other officers on the PepperBall System. The Armorer class provides training in the maintenance and repair of the SA10 and SA200 PepperBall launching systems to help agencies safely and effectively keep the systems well maintained while in the field. To review a complete schedule and register for a PepperBall training course, visit PepperBall training, or the American Society for Law Enforcement Training (ASLET) training site found at www.polictraining.net.

Designed, developed and marketed by PepperBall Technologies, PepperBall systems consist of launchers and projectiles. Launchers are semi-automatic high-pressure air delivery systems. PepperBall Projectiles are hard plastic spheres filled with PAVA (capsaicin II) — a pharmaceutical grade pepper powder super irritant — that burst on impact. Thus, the PepperBall System provides a non-lethal, three-way punch of impact, psychological shock and active irritant that can be shot from a safe distance or up close. It is used to effectively control an individual or crowds in a variety of situations, such as: violent suspects, standoff or barricade situations, “suicide-by-police,” domestic violence response, riot control, prison cell extraction and hostage rescue.
